Rumoured for months on end, Blizzard have confirmed that there is a build of Diablo III running on an unspecified console. In an interview with Polygon Rob Pard, Blizzard executive, said “We’re still kind of exploring it, we’ve got builds up and running on it. We’re hoping to get it far enough along where we can make it an official project, but we’re not quite ready to release stuff about it, but it’s looking pretty cool.”
“The whole team is essentially working on the next big Diablo thing,” Wilson told Polygon “A lot of that stuff will show up next year at some point.”
The “next year” and unspecified console part have us thinking it will be a launch title for a next gen console, PS4 or Xbox 720, but not multiplatform. TGI predict it’ll be an exclusive to one of them, more than likely Xbox.
Diablo III, which sold more than 3.5 million copies on day 1, is out now on PC with a metacritic score of 88
