It was today confirmed that the much loved game mode will return.
Air Superiority, as last seen in Battlefield 1943, will launch with the final Battlefield 3 DLC pack, End Game. The news was confirmed on a full detailing of the pack on Battlefield 3’s official blog along with a host of other details:
Battlefield 3™: End Game delivers some of the most high-speed warfare to date across four vast maps. Race through enemy lines using the new dirt bike, bringing speed and agility to the Battlefield, or fight back aerial assaults with new lightweight AA vehicles. Coordinate lightning fast attacks and defenses in the return of the classic Capture the Flag game mode, or engage in massive dog fights in Air Superiority. In the skies, the new dropship introduces the ability to turn the tide with rapid deployment air drops of troop transports.
Four vast and varied maps designed for high-speed combat and action
Three new vehicles including the fast and agile dirt bikes
New dropship provides support to ground troops with vehicle drop capabilities
Return of the classic Capture the Flag and Air Superiority game modes
The previously reported dirt bikes have been confirmed, but Air Superiority mode is a surprise, but a welcome one at that as many new players of the game get blown out of the sky immediately, so this mode will help them gain access to better weapons.
End Game for Battlefield 3 will launch sometime in early March 2013 as the last DLC installment for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3
